Like most people my age, the “twist” in the plot of The Crying Game was given away years and years ago but I still love this film. I think the relationship between Dil and Fergus/Jimmy is what makes me love this film. Maybe I’m a bit odd but I find Fergus’s/Jimmy’s stuggle with his feelings for Dil and his eventual acceptance sort of beautiful.

I’m struggling through Pride and Prejudice at the moment. It feels profane to even write that let alone admit it out loud but I’ve got a strained relationship with the classics.
English was my favourite subject in high school and I was the stereotypical “girl with her nose stuck in a book” type of teenager. I spent most of my pocket money on books and I often read contemporary fiction or biographies. I was never interested in older novels.
I read Anna Karenina and found it torture. I read Wuthering Heights and loved it. I’m now reading Pride and Prejudice and while it has its moments, I find myself switching on and off. I think I will finish the book but I don’t think I’d read it again.
This clip blew my mind. People like Mark Ronson can be douches because they actually have the talent/creativity to back it up.
